Singapore cricket witnessed a historic moment as Manpreet Singh and Girin Gune produced a phenomenal unbeaten 208-run partnership for the 4th wicket against Indonesia in the Asia Pacific Cricket Champions Trophy 2026. The pair displayed outstanding composure, power and determination, completely changing the course of the innings with a stand that will be remembered for years to come. Their record-breaking effort is a testament to their skill, teamwork and the rising standards of Singapore cricket. 

Girin Gune remained unbeaten on 106 off 60 balls, while Manpreet Singh delivered a brilliant unbeaten 112 off 44 balls, helping Singapore post a commanding 258/3 in 20 overs. Singapore went on to defeat Indonesia by 123 runs, with Indonesia finishing on 135/6. 

This is a truly historic achievement and a proud moment for Singapore cricket. Congratulations to Manpreet Singh and Girin Gune on etching their names into the record books.

The Singapore Cricket Association proudly hosted its Award Night to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of players, clubs, officials and contributors from the Singapore cricket community.

It was a wonderful evening of appreciation, celebration and togetherness as we honoured the hard work, dedication and performances from the 2024-25 season, including the Singapore National Cricket League and Development League.

A big congratulations to all award recipients for their achievements and contribution to the growth of cricket in Singapore. Your commitment continues to inspire the wider cricket community.

We would also like to thank all convenors, clubs, players, officials, partners and guests who joined us and made the evening a memorable one.

ACC Challenger Cup 2026 Semi-final Match Report – 18/06/2026

Singapore defeats Indonesia by six wickets to book a place in the ACC Challenger Cup Final and earn qualification for the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2026, moving one step closer to the Asia Cup.

Singapore delivered a commanding performance in the ACC Challenger Cup 2026 Semi Final, overcoming Indonesia by six wickets to secure a place in the tournament final and, in the process, qualify for the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2026.

After winning the toss and electing to field, Singapore’s bowlers produced a disciplined display to restrict Indonesia to 196 all out in 41.1 overs. Captain Manpreet Singh once again led from the front, claiming four crucial wickets to put Singapore firmly in control. Harsh Venkatram provided excellent support with two wickets, while Suryansh Gulecha chipped in with two of his own to maintain pressure throughout the innings.

In reply, Singapore’s batting unit made light work of the chase, reaching 197/4 in just 29.2 overs. Captain Manpreet Singh completed a memorable all round performance with a sensational 94 off 56 deliveries, striking seven fours and six sixes. He was well supported by Girin Gune, who anchored the innings with a composed 65 off 82 balls, guiding Singapore comfortably to victory.

The comprehensive win not only sends Singapore into the ACC Challenger Cup Final but also guarantees qualification for the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2026, the final stage on the pathway to the Asia Cup.

With momentum firmly on their side, Singapore will now look to carry this form into the final as they continue their pursuit of regional cricket success.

Singapore began their ACC Men’s Challenger Cup 2026 campaign with a convincing win over Maldives, delivering a complete team performance with both bat and ball. 

Singapore won the toss and elected to bowl first. The bowlers produced a disciplined performance to restrict Maldives to 138 all out in 33.2 overs. 

Manpreet Singh led the attack with an outstanding spell, taking 4 wickets in 5.2 overs. 

The debutant bowlers also made an immediate impact, with Kapish Venkatraman taking 2 wickets in 7 overs and Arkin Kesar taking 2 wickets in 6 overs. Jeevan Santhanam also contributed strongly with 2 wickets in 7 overs. 

In reply, Singapore chased down the target comfortably, reaching 139/4 in 24.5 overs. 

Manpreet Singh completed a strong all-round performance with an unbeaten 47, including 5 fours and 1 six. Suryansh Gulecha added quick runs with 30 off 19 balls, while Girin Gune scored 26 and Raheel Thakkar contributed 23. 

A complete team performance as Singapore opened its ACC Men’s Challenger Cup 2026 campaign with a convincing victory over Maldives.

The Singapore cricket community mourns the passing of Harnam Singh, a dedicated servant of the game who represented Singapore from the 1970s to 1990s. He was 81.

A dependable figure in Singapore cricket during a formative period for the sport in the country, Harnam was known for his commitment, discipline, and quiet influence on and off the field. Over more than a decade in national colours, he contributed to the growth and competitiveness of Singapore cricket in regional competitions, earning the respect of teammates and opponents alike.

Beyond his playing career, Singh remained closely connected to the cricketing fraternity, offering guidance and encouragement to younger players and maintaining a lifelong passion for the sport. His presence at matches and community events reflected a deep love for cricket and its values.

Those who played alongside him remember not only his abilities as a cricketer but also his sportsmanship and camaraderie. He was regarded as a steadying influence in the dressing room and a proud representative of Singapore on the international stage.

Harnam’s passing marks the loss of one of Singapore cricket’s devoted contributors. He is survived by his wife, daughter and son, family, and a grateful sporting community that will remember his legacy with respect and affection.

May he rest in peace.
