The SCA has completed the Annual General Meeting for the year 2022-2023.

Singapore U19 won by 122 runs (D/L) V Bahrain U19 in the 1st of 4 50 over practice matches in the
lead up to U19 World Cup Qualifiers in Oman in September 2022.

Pranav Maheswari for his 3 overs-08-2wkts econ 2.67 & an impactful 51(83) was awarded player of the match.
Match 2 starts tomorrow morning at 9.30am at 69 Balestier Rd Singapore Indian Association.

Come down to watch and support the Singapore U19 team and cheer on the Youth cricketers from both teams.

The SINGAPORE NATIONAL MEN’S SQUAD will be hosted by the MISSISSAUGA CRICKET LEAGUE (MCL) to aid in their acclimatisation and preparations for the upcoming ICC CWC CHALLENGE LEAGUE where Singapore go in as joint table toppers alongside Hosts Canada who lead the table by NRR.

These preparation games will be vital inorder to get the team ready for the 50 over format.

SCA thanks Mr. Zahoor Butt (PRESIDENT MCL) for the support extended towards hosting the Singapore Squad and assistance towards preparations for this crucial tournament with World Cup Qualification implications.

THE PADANG – BALESTIER FRIENDSHIP CUP 2022 was played today for the 1st time between
SCC Women’s & SLMWC (Srilanka Migrant Women’s Cricket Team based out of CSC).
The t15 game was won by SCC featuring 4 Women’s & U19W national Squad players while
the 2nd game was won by the SLMWC Team who only today played there first ever game of
leather ball cricket. Though the score read 1-1 the real winner was Women’s & Girls
Cricket in Singapore with over 36 players participating in the 2 respective squads
and learning from the experience.

A BIG THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF SCA to SINGAPORE SRI-LANKA HIGH COMMISSION, SCC, CSC
Cricket Sections and the supporters that turned up to passionately support each
team and Women’s Cricket.

Look forward to the Balestier hosting of the FRIENDSHIP CUP possibly featuring
SRC AND IA too fielding Women’s teams facilitated by SCA.

A real highlight was the fantastic Spirit Of The Game being held by both teams
despite playing hard during the games.

Sasha A/P Azmi 4-01-20-4wkt @ RPO 5.00was awarded Player of the Match for toda and Player of the Series for her overall bowling performance that bolstered the Malaysian Women’s dominance.
Ada Bhasin of Singapore Women’s ‘THE SUNBIRDS’ was awarded Emerging player of the Series for the her all round batting, bowling and fielding performance.

Singapore National Men’s Team departed for Zimbabwe today for 2 crucial T20i & 50 Over World Cup Qualifier events back to back
in Zimbabwe and there after in Canada respectively.

The 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier B will be played from 11th – 17th July 2022.The two teams from the 8 teams
that reach the final of the Global Qualifier will advance to the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

The 2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League A is scheduled to be played in Canada from 27th July to 6th August 2022.
It will be the second round of matches in Group A of the 2019–2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League, a cricket tournament
which forms part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

Singapore are current joint leaders in this tournament on points with host Canada heading the board on NRR.

Game 2 of the best of 3 T20I Singa Championship League 2022 saw PNG chase down Singapore’s 203/7 (20)
and win by 3 wkts, which looked like a match winning score at the end of the 1st Inns.
Singapore’s innings was bolstered by the first ever T20I 100 in her history by dashing opening bat
Surendran Chandramohan 100(52)[7×4s & 7x6s).

Tony Pala Ura the Player Of the Match countered with a brilliant 93*(40)[4×4s & 9x6s) to absorb all
the pressure (PNG were 5wkts for 53 in 7.1 overs chasing 204 to win) and see the match past the winning
post for PNG in one of the most exciting T20I chases in Associate cricket history.
