The Singapore Cricket Association (SCA) organized the U-15 Boys Junior Intermediate Development (JID) Championship T20 tournament team officials and captains’ briefing on October 10, 2024, at the SportSG auditorium.

The tournament will take place from October 14 to November 4, 2024, at SCA’s new venue, SNCG. Ten participating teams from schools, academies, and clubs attended the briefing.
Mohamed Shoib, the National Development Officer and Tournament Director from SCA, led the briefing. The tournament aims to provide emerging cricketers in the U-15 category with the opportunity to gain match experience in a formal tournament setting. This championship is part of the broader Youth Development Program under the SCA, which is structured around three phases: “Emerging Talent,” “Elite Player Performance,” and “High Performance.” The U-15 tournament is specifically designed to give young cricketers exposure to competitive cricket.
Mr. Senthil Kumar, a senior match official and member of the umpire committee, spoke about the crucial role of match officials in ensuring the success of the tournament. He emphasized the importance of fair play and maintaining high standards of officiating to foster a positive competitive spirit among the young players. He also briefed the captains and team officials on anti-corruption protocols.

The tournament is part of SCA’s larger youth development program, which aims to foster cricket skills among young athletes and promote the game across Singapore. It provides a competitive platform for emerging talent and serves as a feeder for national squads. All the best!
