Singapore took on neighbours Malaysia on sun kissed day at the beautiful Kinrara Oval on a day where the HAYS (Timothy HAYS DAVID) from Singapore was able to cut through the HAZE of Malaysian Conditions.

Malaysia won the toss and elected to bat and that decision was justified with the hosts cruising at 44 for none.

Singapore kept the pressure and there go to man Vinoth B struck by removing the dangerous Shafiq S for 24 in the 9th over.

Skipper Amjad M kept applying the squeeze through his spinners and despite a fighting 73 by Virandeep S and 23 by Malaysian captain Faiz A; the hosts could only manage a total of 201. Vinoth B (3 for 32), Anantha K (3 for 41) & Rohan R (2 for 31) shared wickets and Aryaman U the leading wicket taker of the tournament captured 1 wkt for 20 in 5 ovrs.

It was really the last 3 wkts that added 53, which took Malaysia’s total passed 200.

Singapore in reply loss the opener Rohan R on the 1st ball and were soon 2-27 in the 10th. Navin P promoted to No.3 scored a fighting and measured 66 providing both stability and valuable support to Tim David Singapore’s Rock in the middle and the leading run getter of the tournament.

Between the 36th and 39th overs Singapire lost 4 quick wickets for 13 runs.

However a calculated 14 by Sidhant S and a responsible 95 off 81 balls by Tim David saw Singapore home safely to win by 4 wkts.

For a Composed yet Power packed 95, which included 11 4s and a mammoth 6 off 81 ball Timothy ‘HAYS’ David for named Man of the Match. Tim also took a ripper of a catch at long on running 40 yards and sliding in making it look easy.

Singapore take on pre tournament favourites and League table leaders Canada next on the 26th of Sep 2019 at STC.
