Game 1 of 3 in the Crimsons T20 CUP saw the SINGAPORE SELECT XI bounce back strongly to wing by 5 wkt in their chase of 136.

The PK GLADIATORS came back hard to take 5 wkts but the chase was always in reach due to a solid batting performance by the SELECT XI top order with rapid and impactful contributions from Rezza G, Aritra D, Manpreet S and yet another cracking Half Century from Player Of the Match Surendran C.

Game 2 gets underway on the 27th of June at IA.

COME DOWN TO THE GROUND AND ENJOY SOME CRACKING T20 ACTION.

SCA Holiday Clinic Day 1

The SCA commenced day one of the SCA Holiday Clinic at the SCA Academy at IA on the 24th of June. The sessions included two groups; a Beginners clinic for ages 7-10 and an Intermediate clinic for ages 10 and up.

The Beginners clinics were run by Arjun Menon, Game Development Officer for the SCA while National Coach, Bilal Asad and Cricket Development Officer, Manpreet Sing ran the Intermediate sessions.

The Beginners clinic saw the participants learn the basics of catching while also playing some cricket related games while the Intermediate group focused on intense fielding and bowling sessions.

The sessions will run from the 24th-28th of June 2019.

PK GLADIATORS TOOK AN UNASSAILABLE 2-0 Lead in the best of 3 Cresents T20 Challenge with a clinical defence of their score of 108 in 16 overs.

SCA SELECT XI bowled and fielded really well to restrict the PK Gladiators to 108. But the batting were not able to manage what should have been a comfortable chase.

Sarmad Danish was the Man of the Match for an excellent spell of attacking fast bowling that saw him capture 4 wkt.

Hon. Deputy President of Singapore Cricket Association Mr. Subir Gatak presented the Man of the Match Award.

PK GLADIATORS commenced the CRESENTS T20 CHALLENGE with a win on the back of an alround solid performance with the spinners restricting the SCA SELECT X1 to a total of 115. SCA SELECT XI took the game deep in to the 19th but NUMBER 08 SAAD KHAN WITH BAT IN HAND ENDURED THAT THE PKG CHASE WAS ON TRACK. For his controlled bowling, sharp fielding and calm and cool batting SAAD KHAN from PKG Was awarded the MAN OF THE MATCH. PKG GO 1-0 up in the 3 match series.

SCA SELECT XI WILL be looking to bounce back hard today to keep the series alive.

The SCA have selected the squad of 14 for the Singapore U19s team which will be competing in the ACC Eastern Region Trophy 2019 in KL.

The tournament will take place from the 2nd of July till the 10th of July 2019.

Singapore will be in Group A with Nepal, China and Myanmar while Group B will see Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Bhutan fight it out for the top two spots.

The winner of the ACC Eastern Region U19s Trophy will progress on to the Youth Asia Cup and a chance to play against the five Asian test playing nations of the world.

The team departs for KL on the 30th of June 2019.

Singapore Cricket Association creates history by organizing first ever ICC T20 international cricket series in Singapore between Singapore National Women’s team and Myanmar National Women’s team. 

Singapore Cricket association (The governing body of Cricket in Singapore) invited Myanmar Cricket Federation to play 3 ICC international cricket matches in Singapore.

All the 3 matches were played under the flood lights from 18th April to 20th April 2019.

Out of 3, Myanmar won 2 matches and the 3rd and last match was cancelled due to heavy rain.

Matches Summary:

 Day 1 (18 April 2019): Myanmar won the toss and elected to field first. Singapore women’s set the target of 60 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Myanmar completed the target and made 61 runs in 7.3 overs without losing any wicket.

Day 2 (19 April 2019): Singapore won the toss and put Myanmar to bat first. Myanmar set the target of 135 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Singapore Women’s gave a very good start but due to quick fall of wickets and few run outs they could achieve only 86 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets.

Day 3 (20 April 2019): Singapore Women’s did few changes in the team and were quite confident to win the last and final match. However, the match was cancelled due to heavy rain and Myanmar won the series by 2-Nil.

Singapore Cricket Association is committed and putting lots of efforts in growing this wonderful sport in the Singapore. In South East Asia, they are the first one to install flood lights to play cricket in night so that that the Singapore citizens could come and learn Cricket after finishing their schools or work etc. from their high level experienced international coaches.
