Our National Cricket Team will soon have a new home, thanks to the hard work of the SCA Executive Committee and our partners! We thank MCCY and SportSG for the invaluable support to secure the West Coast Ground.  SCA hopes to have a cricket-ready facility to start National Training by mid 2024.

In land-scarce Singapore, this is a massive undertaking that gives reason for celebration. The National Team will have a good training and competition environment supporting its endeavour to make Singapore proud.

“It is a challenge to find adequate space for field sports, given the land constraint we face in Singapore. The national cricket team’s training regimen and schedule requires a dedicated space that is conducive for training. We appreciate the strong support from Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth and Sport Singapore in this journey – from negotiating for earlier shared facility arrangement at Balestier Plain to their quick action in helping us secure the lease at West Coast Ground,” said Mahmood Gaznavi, President of SCA. “From the moment Singapore Cricket Association shared our requirements and challenges with Minister Edwin Tong, there had been prompt and timely developments culminating in the West Coast Ground being allocated to cricket.”

The National Cricket League will continue at various locations including the Padang, Dempsey and the Balestier Plain at Indian Association and Ceylon Sports Club grounds.

SCA is confident and continues to work closely with our partners in our push to promote cricket and to secure a permanent home for the National Team and cricket’s national development.

It was truly a night of celebration as our National Men’s Cricket Team was presented with the well-deserved Major Games Award Programme (MAP) cash payout for winning the Gold Medal for the 6-aside event at the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia, in May 2023.
The Tote Board family comprising Tote Board, Singapore Pools and the Singapore Turf Club is the primary sponsor of the SNOC MAP awards. A total of 121 medalists from the Asian and SEA Games were rewarded with almost $2.3 million in cash.
The event was graced by Minister Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law and Mr Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security.

SCA ensures that all our stakeholders exist within a psychologically, emotionally and physically safe cricket environment.

It has established a Safe Sport Policy to ensure that all participants are aware of their rights, responsibilities and the standards of behavior expected of those participating in our sport.

This Policy also sets out procedures to report any abuse and harassment (including protections from any retaliation or repercussions for such reporting).

SCA is obliged to communicate our Safe Sport Policy to all stakeholders. This is available at the SCA website at https://singaporecricket.org/safe-sport-policy , providing guidance on how to report a concern, as well as the response and resolution process.

We have also formally appointed 2 trained Safeguarding Officers, Mr Mohamed Shoib s/o Abdul Razak and Mr Muthumuni Chamal De Silva Siriwardena, and also ensure that our coaches in the national team set-up complete the online Safe Sport modules.
