It was a daunting task for the SCA academy to compete in any tournament at the junior level. After the closure of its academy in 2017 due to Kallang ground taken back by Sports SG. SCA Academy started its program right from scratch in 2019.

SCA Academy had to face many hurdles in terms of ground, logistic and lack of quality coaches due to discontinuation. It stood firm and its panel of coaches work hard to get back on track.

The academy used to run its program in Kallang since 2011 which-groomed many players like Janak Prakash, Rohan Ranga Rajan, Aryaman Uchil and Ansh Bhargava who are the product of SCA academy and are now the Pioneer players of Singapore national senior team.
These players came through a system which was well adopted and established through the junior development program. Now call the JCDP ( junior cricket development program ) showing the new batch of players in the likes of Aryaveer Chaudhary, Sidhanth Srikanth, Kabir Zandani, Arjun Nagpal and many more talented players who represented SCA academy in GIIS U-16 T20 tournament from 20-24 Jan 2020.

Not only this, the SCA academy broke the winning streak of GIIS after 4 years by beating them in the final on the 24th of Jan 2020. Sca academy chased down the target of GIIS in a long but competitive level in the final. Chasing down the mammoth score of 148 /2 in 16.5 overs. EMERGING PLAYER SERIES 2019
GRAND FINAL
SG CRIMSONS vs SG CRESCENTS

The Emerging Player Series reached the climax as the two best teams were prepared to battle it out in the final encounter!

SG Crescents won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a positive approach, attacking from the first ball and looking to score. However, struggled to increase the run rate and score boundaries. Aaryan Modi with 13 off 22 balls being the only innings of note for the team in orange.

SG Crimsons, who were the only undefeated team of the tournament were keen to finish off in style and secure the trophy. Their bowlers did not disappoint, as they got early inroads and continued their momentum. Aaryan Menon with 2 for 10 in 3 overs.

At the 10 over mark, when SG Crescents were 33 for 2, rain intervened and delayed the match for about an hour, the match was reduced to 13 overs. This was an advantage for the bowling side. SG Crescents had 3 overs to get a fighting score, only managing a DLS target of 58.

SG Crimsons kept their intensity high in their chase with aggressive hitting and prevented the opponents from settling down. A slight change to their opening partnership worked well. Vihaan Maheswari guiding the team home with 21 not out off 24 balls.

SG Crescents let themselves down in the field, with misfields, dropped catches and missed run outs, which you cannot afford in a short format game and could have made a difference. Left arm finger spinner, Naman Satija doing his best for the Crescents with 2 for 6 in 3 overs.

The Player of the Match was Vihaan Maheshwari for well paced innings which saw the Crimsons through to the title.

SG Crimsons won by 8 wickets and crowned champions of the Emerging Player Series 2019!.

MATCH 6

SG CRIMSONS vs SG STARS

The Emerging Player Series resumed, after the last two days being washed out. Both teams were eager to get on the park, especially SG Stars who were playing their last game having already eliminated from making the finals playoff.

SG Crimsons won the toss and elected to bat. They wanted to prolong their superior position in this league, although they had already qualified for the final. Once again, Girin Gune led from the front with 28 off 33 balls and Vihaan Maheswari 21 off 36 balls.

SG Stars had all to play for as a win here could salvage them some pride. They found it difficult against the top three for SG Crimsons but the spinners put a squeeze on the scoring and got crucial breakthroughs. Pranav Maheshwari getting 3 for 13 from 4 overs and restricting the SG Crimsons at 90 for 5 in 20 overs.

SG Stars have really struggled with the bat throughout this tournament and failed to get substantial partnerships in chasing the meagre total set by the Crimsons.Their lower order in the shape of Panashe Nhenga 21 off 26 balls and Pranav Maheshwari 22 off 24 balls brought them to a respectable close.

SG Crimsons on the other hand, began their defense of a low score professionally, sticking to their game plan and executing it efficiently. Aryaveer Chaudhary with 2 for 14 from 4 overs and Neil Karnik 2 for 20 from 4 overs. This meant that the chase for the opposition was always a daunting task.

Although finding himself on the losing side, Player of the Match was Pranav Maheshwari of SG Stars playing his first match of the Emerging Player Series for his exceptional all- round performance!

SG Crimsons winning by 10 runs and qualifying for the finals playoff to be played against SG Crescents on the 1st of Dec at 6.30pm.

SG Stars won the toss and elected to bowl. Their bowlers were putting in a decent effort. But the inner fielders could not prevent the batsmen from stealing singles regularly in the first 6 overs. A great comeback, with wickets in the middle overs meant they remained in the game. Jeevan Santhanam with 3 for 19 in 4 overs.

SG Crimsons top 3 batsmen looked a class apart, with solid techniques and calm demeanor. They balanced defense and attack beautifully to obtain the upper hand at the initial stages. Arjun Nagpal the standout with 24 off 29 balls. Ultimately SG Crimsons scoring 118 for 7 in 20 overs.

SG Crimsons maintained their dominance in the game with accurate bowling and safe catching! Akshay Puri getting 2 for 30 in 4 overs and Aryan Lad getting 2 for 19 in 3 overs.

SG Stars had a second consecutive poor batting innings beginning. The main reason being mindset, lack of planning and rash shot making. It was an uphill task, but Pranav Sudarshan played a heroic innings to bring them close, 58 off 54 balls which included 4 fours and 2 sixes.

The Player of the Match was Pranav Sudarshan, giving his team a lot of hope and leading by example.
