Singapore Let’s Play Socially Responsibly

In Singapore, about 700 million kg of plastic waste is discarded every year. But less than 10% of plastics are being recycled. Our excessive use of plastics is impacting ocean health and biodiversity. By 2050, there could be more plastics in the ocean than fish by weight (WWF.sg).

Food waste makes up about half of the average 1.5kg of waste disposed of by each household in Singapore daily. Of which, more than half of household food waste can be prevented, with rice, noodles and bread being the most commonly wasted food items (towardszerowaste.sg).

Let us all do our part to:

  1. minimize plastic waste
  2. minimize food waste
